IDEAS is a Doctoral Network funded within the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) focused on overcoming one of the major challenges in pharmaceutical development: the poor aqueous solubility of many new drug molecules.
By advancing amorphous pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical systems, the project aims to improve drug solubility, stability, manufacturability and therapeutic performance.
IDEAS brings together leading academic and industrial partners to train a new generation of researchers able to translate fundamental materials science into practical solutions for the pharmaceutical sector.
The project is scheduled to start on November 1st 2026. Recruitment for the doctoral candidate positions will open soon, so please check the website regularly for updates if you are interested in joining the network as an early-career researcher.
This IDEAS consortium brings together leading universities, innovative SMEs and major pharmaceutical partners across Europe, covering the full value chain from inovative formulation design to industrial translation.
This international and intersectoral structure gives doctoral candidates access to complementary expertise, facilities and career perspectives. Through joint supervision, secondments, workshops, and transferable-skills training, IDEAS will prepare researchers to address complex challenges in amorphous pharmaceutical systems and to contribute to Europe’s competitiveness in pharmaceutical research and development.
